Summary
The two Intel oneAPI Centers of Excellence (CoE) in Cambridge, the Stephen Hawking Centre for Theoretical Cosmology and the Open Zettascale Lab are hosting a hackathon for practitioners of SYCL. This event follows on from a similar event hosted by the oneAPI CoE in Durham in November 2022 and is taking place directly before the 2023 IWOCL/SYCLcon which is also in Cambridge. At this event teams will work on adding to and enhancing the open-source HeCBench benchmarking project. Not only will this provide a great opportunity for participants to improve their knowledge and experience with SYCL, but the outcomes will also benefit the SYCL community. Participants are not required to bring along their own SYCL code but some basic familiarity (e.g. as provided by the Intel Essentials of SYCL modules) will be assumed.
